The Impact of the NFL: More Than a Game

We all know that NFL football can become a big part of our lives. Some people's lives can be impacted in a tremendous way from simply meeting their favorite player or checking out their team's locker room. There are plenty of great stories where children who are unfortunately diagnosed with crippling diseases get their chance to meet their favorite team.

The story of Braylon Beam is a special one. Braylon, a six-year-old, was diagnosed with a Brain tumor in February according to an ESPN article covering the story. Fortunately Braylon announced Sunday at the Panther's game (his team) that the tumor is dying! Hearing the story of such a young kid fighting against such a tough situation can be truly humbling.

It is great to hear that Braylon is starting to beat the brain tumor and hopefully the tumor continues to shrink! He was able to coach the team at a Fan fest event in August. The team was thrilled when they heard about Braylon's current state.

Braylon's message to the team before the game? Six-year-old Braylon is wise beyond his years by telling the team"We've got to keep positive." We can all learn a thing or two from Braylon through his positive attitude. (Braylon pictured below during Sunday's pregame)

Another Legendary Sunday

Today was another wild day in the National Football League. With many exciting plays, nail-biting endings, and some injuries to big players it made for a legendary weekend of football! One of the big headlines from Sunday’s games was the fact that Eddie Lacey, Tony Romo, and Jay Cutler were all taken off the field due to injuries.

All of which are pretty major injuries (other than Lacey) so the Cowboys and Bears might be hurting coming into the next few weeks. Jay Cutler went down on a play where he threw an interception and then made an attempt to tackle the defensive player. Tony Romo was taken out of the game taking a pretty big hit that resulted in a broken bone.
Here is a link to the devastating play that might put a hold on the Cowboy's success this season.

Sunday Night Football

The Green Bay Packers are playing the Seattle Seahawks for the Sunday Night Football game tonight in a rematch from the last time the two teams met.  Last season, these two teams played against each other for the NFC Championship for a chance to get to the Super Bowl in a overtime thriller.  The Packers will be coming for vengeance to get to the record of 2-0 in this season.  With Kam Chancellor still holding out on his contract, the Packers have a better chance of winning this game since he is one of the main defensive stars on that team beside Richard Sherman.  Check out this LINK to see how the Packers can solve the #1 defense of the Seattle Seahawks.

Annnndd We're Back!

The NFL season has started this week! Many football fans across the nation celebrate their team being back on the field with great food, drinks, and their lucky jersey! There were many great games that took place in the NFL, but the most interesting game (in my opinion) started right at 12 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.

Today the Green Bay Packers took on the Chicago Bears in one of the longest ongoing rivalries in the game today. It was a back-and-forth game up until the fourth quarter where the Packers seemed to pull away! As a Packer fan, it was great to see my team pull this one off! I felt that the Bears played a great game and I was actually surprised at how well the team played. Luckily the Green and Gold was able to hold on for the win for their first 1-0 start since 2011 against the New Orleans Saints.

Here is a video capturing some of today's excitement:
